
The Neonatal Transport Team at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial is composed of a special group of physicians, nurses and respiratory therapists who have received specific and intensive training in the stabilization and care of the critically ill neonate during transport. Specialized equipment is used by the team to provide a high level of care while the infant is in route from the referring hospital to the Project: New Born Neonatal Special Care Center.
The transport team is available 24 hours/day, is physician accompanied, and has the capability of providing ground and air transport. The goal of the transport service is to improve the outcome of the critically ill neonate who is in need of a regional neonatal intensive care unit. The Neonatal Transport Team at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial is committed to providing a rapid response time while delivering the highest level of transport care.
